How many followers do you need to get paid on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Snapchat?
As of October 2026, from Morocco, only YouTube (500 subscribers for fan funding, 1,000 for ad revenue) and Snapchat (50,000 followers, by invitation) have an open payout programme. Instagram gifts and subscriptions and TikTok's Creator Rewards are not open. Clients, on the other hand, pay from the nano tier up, and UGC needs almost no followers.

How many followers do I need on each platform?
Each platform sets its own thresholds and, above all, its own countries. These are the programmes that pay creators directly, checked on the official pages on 29 October 2026:
| Platform | Programme | Official threshold | Open in Morocco? |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube | Expanded Partner Programme (fan funding) | 500 subscribers, 3 uploads in 90 days, 3,000 hours in 12 months or 3 million Shorts views in 90 days | Yes |
| YouTube | Partner Programme (ad revenue) | 1,000 subscribers, 4,000 hours in 12 months or 10 million Shorts views in 90 days | Yes |
| TikTok | Creator Rewards Program | 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in 30 days | No, 8 countries only |
| TikTok | LIVE gifts | 1,000 followers to go LIVE (varies by region) | Country list not published |
| Gifts on Reels | 500 followers | No | |
| Subscriptions | 10,000 followers | No | |
| Snapchat | Monetization Program | 50,000 followers, 15,000 hours of view time in 28 days with 3,000 from Spotlight, Snap Star status, by invitation | Yes, Morocco is among the payout countries |
Everywhere, you must be at least 18 and keep an account that follows the platform's rules.
The TikTok detail is in the TikTok monetization guide, and the YouTube detail in the YouTube monetization guide.
Why doesn't Instagram pay creators in Morocco?
Gifts on Reels and Instagram Subscriptions are only open in a list of countries published by Instagram, which does not include Morocco as of October 2026. Instagram bonuses are invitation-only tests, in some countries only.
One tool is still useful: Meta's Creator Marketplace. It is open in every country where Meta sells advertising, from age 18, with a public professional account and 1,000 followers.
It is not a payout from the platform: it is a shop window for advertisers to find you, who then pay you directly.
From how many followers do clients pay you?
Without a platform programme, the money comes from clients: shops, brands and individuals who pay for a post or a video. These are the tiers, with October 2026 market ranges for an Instagram post:
| Tier | Followers | What you usually see | Instagram post |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nano | under 10,000 | Product swaps, then first paid partnerships, often with businesses in your city | 200 to 1,500 MAD |
| Micro | 10,000 to 50,000 | Regular partnerships, Reel and story bundles | 1,500 to 5,000 MAD |
| Mid-tier | 50,000 to 250,000 | National campaigns, often through agencies | 5,000 to 18,000 MAD |
| Macro | 250,000 to 1 million | Large campaigns, exclusivity | 18,000 to 60,000 MAD |
| Star | over 1 million | Long contracts, brand ambassador | 60,000 MAD and more |
A story is worth about 40% of a post, and a Reel about 1.6 times a post. For the same format, TikTok pays about 0.9 times Instagram, YouTube 1.8 times, Snapchat and Facebook 0.6 times. The detail per platform is on the rates page.
How many followers do I need to do UGC?
Almost none. In UGC, the client buys the video, not your audience: you deliver it without posting it, and they run it in their own ads.
What matters is the quality of your videos and a portfolio of three to five samples. Based on market ranges, a UGC video is worth about 0.8 times an Instagram post: 150 to 1,200 MAD at the nano tier, 1,200 to 4,000 MAD at the micro tier.
To get started, read the guide to becoming a UGC creator.
How do I get paid with fewer than 10,000 followers?
- Pick a niche and a city: a local business looks for a local audience first.
- Measure your engagement with the engagement rate calculator and put it forward: it is your best argument.
- Publish your packages and prices in MAD, for example on your creator profile: a client who sees a price finds it easier to write to you.
- Start with simple bundles: a Reel and three stories, or one UGC video.
- Accept a few product swaps at first, then set a limit and ask for payment.
- Never buy followers: clients check, see the fake followers guide.
Example: a beauty creator in Agadir with 6,000 followers offers a bundle of one Reel and three stories. At the nano-tier medians (about 1,100 MAD per Reel and 300 MAD per story), the bundle is worth about 2,000 MAD; with a bundle discount, she can list it at 1,800 MAD.
Is follower count enough to get paid?
No. A client also looks at engagement, where your audience lives and how regularly you post. A small account with an engaged audience in one city can interest a local business more than a large account with little engagement.
To put this into practice, follow the paid partnerships guide.
