Is the YouTube Partner Programme open in Morocco?
Yes. Morocco is on YouTube's official list of countries where you can join the YouTube Partner Programme (YPP), and on the list for the expanded programme, which opens at 500 subscribers.
On top of the audience thresholds, YouTube asks you to follow its monetization policies, live in a country where the programme is available and have no active Community Guidelines strikes.
You also need 2-Step Verification on your Google Account, access to YouTube's advanced features and an AdSense for YouTube account linked to your channel.
How many subscribers and watch hours do I need to get monetized?

Watch hours from Shorts in the Shorts feed do not count toward the 4,000 hours. If you mostly post Shorts, aim for the Shorts views threshold.

How does YouTube pay you in Morocco?
YouTube pays you through AdSense for YouTube. For an address in Morocco, AdSense offers electronic transfer in dirhams (EFT), cheque and international wire; Hyperwallet is not available.

- Link an AdSense for YouTube account to your channel from YouTube Studio.
- Enter your tax information and verify your identity and address when AdSense asks.
- Once you reach 80 MAD in earnings, add your payment method. For a transfer in dirhams, AdSense sends a test deposit to your Moroccan bank account, which you confirm.
- Early each month, the previous month's earnings are finalized, then added to your AdSense for YouTube balance between the 7th and the 12th.
- If your balance reaches 800 MAD on the 20th and no hold blocks the account, the payment is issued between the 21st and the 26th. An electronic transfer arrives within seven business days at most.
Below 800 MAD, the balance simply rolls over to the next month.
Do I have to bring my YouTube earnings back to Morocco?
Exchange rules define an export of services as a service provided by a resident to a non-resident for payment. Its proceeds must be brought back to Morocco within 90 days of the service, then sold on the foreign exchange market (article 97 of the General Instruction on Exchange Operations).
In November 2024, the Office des changes reminded Moroccan YouTubers and influencers paid from abroad that they must bring that income back, according to Hespress.
If AdSense pays you by transfer in dirhams to a Moroccan bank account, the money already arrives in Morocco. Exporters registered in the trade register can also keep part of their proceeds in a foreign currency or convertible dirham account (article 98).
